Monday, March 25, 2002 6:35:08 PM - KISS Exposed DVD Released (USA) / "Live In Las Vegas" DVD Update
The first in the back catalog of KISS Video releases, Exposed, was finally released on DVD on March 19th.
This is simply a single DVD release, not combined with any other video release (like Xtreme Closeup/Konfidential was in
Europe) and contains no new footage (apparently). It's available for purchase from CD NOW, through the following links:

KISS: Live In Las Vegas (Pre-Order)
The "Live in Las Vegas" DVD release may not happen (it is not an official product), but it can't hurt to advance order it - the release date has been pushed
back to April 2nd! The DVD apparently features the 4 songs KISS played, along with "bonus coverage with 5 camera angles,
plus an interview with the band upon the eve of their farewell tour. Also features the band launching their first-ever
theatrical film: Detroit Rock City with a mini performance at the premiere". At the DRC Premier, KISS performed "Cold
Gin", "Rock And Roll All Nite", "Detroit Rock City", and "Shout It Out Loud"... «Post A Comment»
Monday, March 25, 2002 8:44:52 AM - Where's Waldo II? KISSAsylum.com Missing In Action...
Apparently KISS Asylum has posted the following note on AOL: "All the websites hosted by NextLevel.com are currently down
(including Nextlevel.com). That includes KISS ASYLUM, BandAsylum.com, KISS Freaks, KULICK.net etc etc. Not sure when they will be back up.
Keep checking back"... «Post A Comment»
Sunday, March 24, 2002 11:10:00 AM - Where's Waldo? KISSAsylum.com Missing In Action...
KISSAsylum.com and other related sites including KISS Freaks, Kulick.net, UnionAsylum, Ericcarr.com have dropped
off the internet for the past several days. Their host, NextLevel is also MIA. Why NextLevel is currently
down is unknown, but their main office phone number is no longer in service. Hopefully this doesn't point to something negative and the sites
will be back up soon... «Post A Comment»

Thursday, March 21, 2002 2:51:05 PM - Modifications to the FAQ...
Finally added the chat room and guestbook to the FAQ. Both are accessible off the main page. For those whove complained
about Peter-Criss.com, Eric-Carr.com, and Ace-Frehley pointing to vinnie-vincent.com
I can assure you that it was NOT a Vinnie conspiracy. The new webserver is built, and while all three sites point
to the same IP, they're split. Still, I found it amusing for a while ;)... «Post A Comment»
Thursday, March 21, 2002 2:51:05 PM - Gene Rants...
Gene posted a rather strong response, on his official site genesimmons.com, to
what would appear to be numerous negative emails to the site concerning Tommy Thayer's performance with the band in
Jamaica in place of Ace Frehley. He stated, "Recently, some of you have gotten very upset at an event we did that did not
include Ace. Okay. Listen carefully. He was asked and did not want to go. Got it? Now please get off my back". Pure Gene!
Wonderful, reminds me of his famed AOL KISSNation email way back when! C'mon, Ace is doing his own thing, they can but ask
for his involvement. KISS is Gene and Paul - remember that!... «Post A Comment»

Just completed a long anticipated Q&A with David Bartky, the Bassist, in one of Eric Carr's pre-KISS bands, The

Thursday, March 14, 2002 9:24:06 AM - KISS In Jamaica
Information about the secret gig in Jamaica remains sketchy at this point. However, another act playing has commented,
"on March 7th 2002 we will play in Jamaica (one day after KISS)" (The
Scorpions) indicating that KISS were scheduled to play on March 6th. The location for the gig was Montego Bay, though
the venue remains unknown. Also playing the event was the classic rock group Nazareth ("Hair Of The Dog" fame), though not
neccessarily at the same time as KISS. One mailing-list post has suggested that Gene, Paul, Eric, and Tommy comprised this latest lineup for the band
since Ace was apparently too busy recording... «Post A Comment»
Saturday, March 09, 2002 12:12:08 PM - At Star-Crazy Magazines, Brand's the Thing
(From Yahoo, By DAVID CARR and LORNE MANLY The New York Times) The magazine industry, always looking for a new angle on
an old medium, is searching for answers everywhere even inside the heavily made-up mouth of a Kiss rocker. Gene Simmons
Tongue magazine, a collaboration between Mr. Simmons, the Kiss star, and the Sterling/ McFadden Partnership, is the latest
attempt to take an existing piece of cultural iconography in this instance, Mr. Simmons's most prominent feature and
leverage it into a publishing franchise.
It's not exactly Martha Stewart Living, the phenomenally successful lifestyle magazine, but it's the same idea.
Publishing companies are forming alliances with everyone and everything from Oprah Winfrey to MTV as a way to combat
the punishing economics of the newsstand and to control the increasingly prohibitive cost of acquiring readers.
The magazine industry, much of which used to be in the business of manufacturing celebrity, is now intent on using
celebrities as a platform for bigger things. In the late 1990's, the business built on marketing fantasy bought into a
few illusions of its own. Magazine companies, big and small, came to believe that the advertising glut of 1999 and 2000
would continue forever... READ MORE... «Post A Comment»
Wednesday, March 06, 2002 7:03:55 PM - "KISS Album Focus" Book Update
Plans to privately publish the completed "KISS Album Focus" move ahead, as does the final editting of the manuscript. I've
received the first batch of quotes for private publication runs, which is the path I'm taking for the first edition. I'll
be discussing these proposals to decide which best meets the requirements of the book. The manuscript has pushed past 600
pages, though this will change as I reformat for the size of book that have made. Several appendices, originally planned
for inclusion, have been dumped. Anyway, here's a tentative design for the cover

It may well change by the time I make copies available in the next few months... «Post A Comment»

Silent Rage, whose "Don't Touch Me There" album was originally released on $immons records in 1989 has been reissued
on Z-records (ZR1997056). The CD includes 3 tracks produced by Gene, and "All Night Long" written by Bruce Kulick and

Saturday, March 02, 2002 8:33:20 PM - Vinnie's "Speedball Jamm" Only the first in a series of CD's...
A posting on the Pyromessiah discussion board (HERE) indicates
that the long-awaited "Archives are going into production and will be completed one volume at a time". A complete box set, as
originally planned will apparently follow. Additionally, "all past orders will be fullfulled one volume at a time and will
be complemented by a complete boxed set at the end of production. An 800, toll free number will be forthcoming for
inquiries and information". An attached ad image indicates that the re-recordings of "Euphoria" and the incredible
"Guitarmageddon/GFH" will also follow... Again, time will tell, but it's a hopeful sign of excellent material from Vinnie!

The excellent Vinnie Cusano collaboration with Felix Cavaliere, originally released in 1977, was reissued in Japan on CD
for the first time on Feb. 20, 2002. It's released on Sony/Epic EICP-7031 and should cost standard import prices.
Vinnie wrote and sang two songs on the album. Check out the SONY Music (Japan)
