Saturday, January 11, 2003 1:20:48 PM - KISS/Aerosmith Tour Rumor (Again)
*** NOTE: THIS IS AN UNCONFIRMED RUMOR - ANY TOUR DATES WOULD BE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED VIA KISSONLINE.
(From: Launch.com) (1/10/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- The joint Aerosmith and Kiss tour is apparently back on for this summer. Promoters are reporting that the two bands are currently putting together an itinerary that is likely to play mostly in arenas, although some stadium dates are also possible.

Neither band is officially confirming the tour, however. Aerosmith, in fact, spoke with us earlier about plans for an OzzFest-style festival package for the summer, but that's apparently gone by the wayside. Kiss singer-guitarist Paul Stanley was asked last year about touring with Aerosmith, when the rumors first began, but declined to confirm any plans with Aerosmith. "We're in this enviable position that we're still finishing up our farewell tour, and we've already had about two million people say, 'Don't stop,'" Stanley said. "And at that point, we're kind of scratching our heads and wondering what we're going to do next, so we're really kind of keeping our options open. If the right situation came along, anything's possible."

Kiss, meanwhile, is preparing for a February 28 show with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in Australia, as well as three dates (March 11-13) at Budokan Hall in Tokyo. Drummer Peter Criss will be rejoining the band for these shows, while lead guitarist Ace Frehley has not officially confirmed his participation.

Aerosmith plans to record a new blues-oriented album this spring before the tour.

Wednesday, January 1, 2003 - Happy New Year!
The KISSFAQ wishes everyone a very
H  A  P  P  Y      N  E  W      Y  E  A  R

The KISSFAQ would like to thank everyone for their support in 2002, especially those people who've purchased the "KISS Album Focus" at a storming rate! We're down to our last 35 copies, direct from the author, HERE! The KISSFAQ hopes that everyone has a happy, safe, successful, and rewarding 2003. Maybe KISS will even get their act together and start really listening to the fans.

While KISSFAQ accepts that music is a business, we want: 1) a new studio album with a real producer; 2) some honesty about the makeup - take it off, ya flogging a dead horse and the reunion has run its' course; 3) more archival material - can we say "Box Set II" which really contains more rare than released tracks, even single CD releases of rare stuff; 4) Forget Alive IV; 5) Didn't ya learn anything from 1979/80? Screw the tacky merchandising, you're a band first - remember that. 6) Stop lying to the fans or being evasive - own up, be honest, and get some respect from the fans. We know Ace isn't perfect, neither are Gene and Paul or Vinnie. Everyone's got their own perspective and memories, but at least stop talking in used cliches. Maybe not, but I ain't drunk. Regardless: KISS Fan To The End. «Post A Comment»
