What to think about buying ALIVE III (vinyl)?

Post by Spiritual_Chaos » Wed Mar 13, 2019 4:10 pm

So I'm gonna pick up ALIVE III. Do all versions sound good? So I can just pick up the reissue? Or is there something I would need to think about?

Trade in some Pearl Jam CDs, and buy all versions of ALIVE III.

But there is no problem with the reissue then? No need to look up the original release or some rare french press... or something like that...

Be careful, Chaos...

Some pressings of Alive III contain subliminal messages via backmasking.

If you listen closely, you'll hear Eddie Vedder singing:
Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
I'm gonna go out to my car and get my karate gi

I believe the 2014 remaster of Alive III should be really good. It should also have the bonus track Take It Off.

If there's a better sounding vinyl of it, I'm unaware of it.

In 91 - Axl because he's sick in the head.
Today - Eddie because he's still fit.

Pick up the reissue. The original coloured vinyl pressings are getting to be pricey now and don’t sound as good IMO.

Any band feeding the behaviour shown above (I haven't played it either) is a morally corrupt band. Yucky Pearl Jam for falling into turning fandom into collector mentality. Modern day greatful dead is turning into modern day KISS.

They're barely a band anymore. They tour a few big shows here and then Vedder goes out with his ukelele. It's been almost 6 years since the last album.

One of the above cancelled a show last year because he smokes a pack a day and lost his voice...and the other one was Axl Rose.

One of the above had to cancel his first show ever since 1990 because of a sick throat. The other one has to sound like Axl Rose.

Let's not forget the political cancellation of the show in Carolina a few years back. That band knows that probably 40% of crowds at their shows travel for them and they cancelled 2 days before because they disagree with a law that was put in that state? That was quite ridiculous. I've seen them 77 times, but Vedder is a celebrity now and doesn't bring anything near what he used to on stage anymore, not to mention the deterioration of his voice.

Who would win in a fight....?
Eddie Vedder?
or
Axl Rose?
In 91 - Axl because he's sick in the head.
Today - Eddie because he's still fit.
Axl would've smoked him then and he'd smoke him now
No chance in hell "stocky botocks woman Axl" would beat up Eddie in 2019.

Not so sure about that...Axl's back in decent shape
Are we really fighting over which 55 year old man would win in a fight????!
Slow news day
Fair enough,.

Feel free to block me. Because I'm going to post my opinion. ;)

Haha...not really, just having fun and trying to kill the thought process that Axl is a still a fat ass these days. It's more fun than the constant lip synching debates.

That warms my cold, black heart.
