I’ll be there! Right off the right side of the stage row 6. Waiting to buy definitely paid off in avoiding the presale upsells and “official platinum” tickets that are outrageously priced. A few weeks ago the tickets randomly popped up as available on Ticketmaster at standard pricing. Also just got an email from the venue confirming the Painter as the opener. Will probably take a pass n check out the merch lines instead.

I'll be there, too... with my husband, my brother, my sister-in-law, 2 of my sons & their girlfriends, and 2 of my former students & their families.
The whole damn fam.
We're in section 118. If anyone wants to say hi, look for a little lady (I'm about the size of "a 12 year old" ) with long dark hair, wearing a pink beanie & a Kiss shirt w/ red glitter logo. That's me. :D

Papered to the hilt, obviously. You can tell by the pattern of alternate rows being completely full, and conversely completely empty. Add on top of that ticket prices have been slashed by practically half their original prices.

I’m shocked sales are so soft. They did well here their last time in the building.

Looks like this is the first show of the tour with pretty lagging sales? I guess we will see when the boxscores come out, but guessing the gross on this one will be well south of 1M? Maybe in the 700k range depending on how bad the tickets have been slashed...

Yeah, some shows are gonna sell better than others. Although from the beginning, this date was CLEARLY the worst selling stop on this leg. I really have no clue why. Last time here KISS had a solid showing.

Your estimates so far have sounded good to me, including on this one. If we get a boxscore I’m sure you’re in the right neighborhood.

What was I wrong about?

From the beginning, and I quote my assessment of the Glendale show on November 3, 2018...

I'm no expert on this stuff, but as a local, I can tell you that this is a pretty lousy venue . I've been to a couple of other concerts here & never feel like I have a good view of the stage. It's also wayyyy out on the west side of Phoenix, which is inconvenient for a lot of folks, especially if they're coming up from Tucson or other parts of AZ.
I don't know if that's reason enough to explain the sales, but I do know quite a few people who decided not to go tonight based on the locale.

The answer is simple nibbler. The ticket prices aren't worth what the current lineup is offering. On the Sonic Boom tour, tickets were more "reasonably" priced. :| ... 8)

Also, Kiss tours in AZ. have always been up and down in terms of turnout. Nothing new there.

The Sonic Boom tour hit Glendale on Tues. 12/1/09.

This was the last Kiss tour where I felt they were at least... "solid". From 2010 onward, they became more cringing and painful to see live. But I digress. :|... :(

You’re completely off base here, you’re not even part of the same conversation.

The November 3, 2018 date I referenced was the day I made the comment about how awful the sales are on the then upcoming Glendale show. I even posted the link to show the original thread I made the comment on.

But I digress. Thanks for playing though.

Interesting. I actually prefer the Glendale Arena (yes, I still call it that... ) over the outdoor Pavilion not far from there---- when it comes to Kiss shows. You make a good point though--- perhaps the longer drive does turn some fans away. 8)

I hope those going enjoy the show.Notice the Usual Suspects making hay above, that was before Julian posted the Boxscores from the other shows. Sure looks like this will be one of those pay the bills, instead of giving everyone the day off mid week shows.Might/maybe/possibly get to 70% at best.

I was surprised, I expected a half full arena..,it was pretty well full.

Quick review (I’m tired)

Highlights, the stage show, lights, fire, screens, etc...have to be seen...they are awesome. I watched the YouTube clips, it’s much better in person. The band seemed to be enjoying themselves, the crowd was great...I’m gonna get flack but one of the better KISS shows I’ve seen in a long while.

Lowlights- stale portions of the setlist. “Say Yeah” and “LMGRNR” seemed to be yawners / no changeups same setlist you’ve read from other shows.

Glad I went, had a blast with my son...Vegas on Friday for my #2 show.

Oh and I’m gonna eat some crow, I didn’t want/don’t want the painter as an opening act (still don’t)...but he was very talented and very entertaining.

Just got out of the Glendale show, holy hell I don’t know how but I can vouch n say the show was at least 90/95% full. Amazing show from start to finish. Absolutely worth the money
Glad you had a great time. Electric church baby!!!

I don’t doubt it was full. I’m just curious to what the boxscore says. Live Nation can fill up a place overnight if they do see fit. They can paper a venue full in the touch of a button. I always get email blasts for $10 tickets and flat out free shows for concerts all throughout the year. It all translates to cash once a patron steps in the building. Who knows? Maybe there was a huge late purchases and a tremendous walk up.

As I’ve said before, attendance can be manipulated nine ways ‘till Sunday...gate receipts cannot.

Can’t wait to see the boxscore.

Glad that Masley liked the show. Paul PROUDLY continues to acknowledge ONSTAGE that Kiss are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. :D

He said the EXACT same thing in July 2014, the year they received the HONOR. Frankly, they ALL should be honored. 8)

Make no mistake, Paul WANTS the fans to know that it's a BIG deal to be inducted. Sadly, he'll never admit it in interviews.... ... :( ... :(

Same here. I've seen a lot of Kiss shows, but never anything this over-the-top. The fire, lights, bombs, confetti, streamers & giant balloons made me forget all about them using backing tracks. :)
In the dark corners of my mind, I knew it was happening, but honestly, my impression was that Paul & Gene are still doing everything humanly possible to put on a great show. I was not disappointed in the least.
I had a really good time, and I was surrounded by people who were also loving it.

I got to say hello to a fellow FAQ member, Star Struck78 which was cool. 8)

The arena was PACKED.
After Garibaldi (who was much better than I expected!), a couple of local djs got on stage to make announcements and one of the things they said was that veterans were able to get tickets to the show for as low as $15 a seat. That may explain the full house. There were very few empty seats as far as I could tell.

So no complaints here.
If I get the chance to see another show on this tour, I'll gladly go see them again.

Glad you enjoyed it Ruth. How much were your tickets, if you don't mind me asking?

Also, how was the set list? What would you drop and add? 8)

No, I don't mind at all. I paid $150 each for my tix. We were dead center, just off the floor and I couldn't have asked for a better view of the stage. Definitely the best experience I've had at that venue.

As for the setlist...I've never been big on Let Me Go RnR, so I'd drop that one in a heart beat. War Machine is another one I could live without. LIU & HoF could also go. I'd love to hear anything out of the ordinary, especially sung by Gene or Eric. Watchin' You would be beautiful . All the Way seems like a simple one to learn. I'd love to hear it live. I'm also a sucker for Ladies in Waiting.
I'd even be happy just to hear the less obscure stuff like Ladies Room , Hard Luck Woman... or even Nothin' to Lose would be fine.

But truthfully, when I'm right there, at a show, I tend to forget about the things we complain about here--like the setlist.

One other thing on my mind:We probably all agree that RARAN can go on too long and become irritating , but they kept it fairly short & sweet last night. They could shorten LIU & HoF a bit though--- too repetitious at the end.

Good to hear that it was a great experience at the venue for you this time. That definitely helps without question! Thanks for responding. 8)
