Ace will be using Gene's solo band as the new Ace Frehley backing band

Ace is on the new episode of The Cassius Morris Show that got posted today....Episode 109.

At the 4:54 mark....Ace says he's made a change in his band and is now working with Gene's solo band to be the new Ace Frehley backing band.

Pretty cool. Smart move.

Probably a good move, but I grew fond of the guys he had. Gene's band look like - no offense - a band of Zakk Wylde impersonators. I think the problem with Ace's band was half that band came to see Ace beneath themselves and didn't want to push him. The younger guys were there along for the ride to bide their time before better opportunities arise. I'm talking about Chris Wyse especially, he got a sweet gig with Hollywood Vampires. I think Scot Coogan is a very good drummer and singer. People say his tempo is all over the place, which I happen to not notice, but assuming it is, he probably got bored to death playing these same songs for years. Also I can't help but notice Ace doing literally everything Gene suggests he do. I wanted to see Ace as his own man, but at this stage in life it looks like professionally he just doesn't wanna be one.

It's not his old band's fault they played slowly. Ace told them how to play. He only rehearsed once with Gene's band. It's typical Ace. He doesn't care about people. I want him or Bruce back in Kiss just because I don't want them to end with Tommy, but I don't think Ace deserves it. As far as Gene's band, they look like Nashville players.

Couple of points.
Re Cassius. Great catch and coup. Great kid, actually young man. Good head on his shoulders. He always wanted to be a broadcaster/radio/podcasts and hes doing it. Hes built and continues to build on everything hes achieved and contacts hes developed. This Ace one is a great one for him. Hes one to watch.
Re Ace using Genes band. Twofold here. Economically it makes better sense to double up solo wise . Each attracts a certain number. each have their own costs. Makes perfect sense to combine band and travel costs. For the audience they then get a Ace solo show with a stellar band and Gene solo with a stellar band then an encore with both.
Basically half original KIss knocking it out of the park.

RE: Ace, economically I think he knew that it was long term financially unfeasible to sustain. Hes had many band members. Nothings set in stone. Ace is the draw. Re Ritchie. Well again, Ritchie has been Keith To Aces Keith for decades .,
Plus, Ill be very careful here, I am aware Ritchie is having personal family issues with an ill loved one so the timing of his employment cessation is not at a great time.

Ace really seems to be listening to Gene these days.
Gene suggests the (awful) name of "Spaceman" and Ace goes with it.
Gene lends his band to Ace, dumps on Richie and next thing Ace hires the guys full time.
There was a time when Ace would rather be set on fire than take Gene's advice!

Those are KISS songs penned by Ace, two of which weren't even originally sang by him.

Love Gun is a KISS song penned by Paul Stanley, which was not even originally sang by Ace.
