ASCAP - two "lost" songs written by Gene & Paul?

Post by Luchino »

I was searching the ASCAP database and I found a couple of interesting things
Two songs registered as written by Gene and Paul : "Perfume Parade" and "10 Sure Fire"
Have you ever heard these titles before?

This seems like stuff that might come out on an exapnded release, therefore it needs registering.

These songs are probably not amazing but for demo geeks like us, fun to hear.

Someone fat-fingered the alternate title of "10 Sure Fire" as "Tne Sure Fire", lol.

"Perfume Parade"...I wonder if that was an unused promo item for the KISS scent from a few years back? (only half joking!)

Unlikely with Stanley or Frehley credited.

Either from Gene's box set coming out in October on Rhino, or they're new songs...

Given the numerous typos on the list, I wonder what the lost titles actually are, if they're not songs we already know misnamed.

As I said before, I would say it's highly unlikely that something co-written by Paul would be considered for a Gene Simmons boxset. Possible of course, but unlikely. As they don't appear to be dated it's difficult to ascertain the song's history or age. Registering them and when they were written/demoed aren't mutually inclusive.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either. But being Australian, some may argue that English is not my mother language either.

Could be from the Gene Boxset, also Ace and Gene have been writing together? The songs with Gene and Paul state universal polygram, Born to Rock and roll does not and that is such an Ace title. so they could be from different projects? Very very interesting...
