RIP. I heard him interviewed by Mitch Lafon a month or two ago. He was writing a book titled "I Discovered Kiss." The first LP is a masterpiece. I don't care if it isn't as heavy as the songs were live.

Sad to hear. I was just listening to him on a podcast or 2 this past week. It is really sad to see all of these people who were very connected to Kiss die in the last 10 years or so. These are the people who we would see their names on the back of the album covers or pictures in magazines. I was hoping his book would get finished. Did anyone notice that Bio on Kenny said he produced DP? Guess there's confusion because some songs he produced were on DP, but Delaney produced DP as a whole. Thanks Kenny for going back and getting the Kiss Demo back from Bogart. Big piece of Kisstory.

When I first became aware of KISS in late '76 early '77, I soon became aware of the early albums, and the names Kerner/Wise.

Sad to hear about this. Fly High Kenny Kerner!!

Bummer. He an Richie Wise really did a good job with the song selection, arrangements, and performances on those albums. And I still think the audio production on the first album is really good for a low budget album recorded in late '73.

The arrangements of the songs on the first two albums are MUCH better than the arrangements that KISS originally came up with. They are tighter and more focused and make the songs catchier.

It's really sad to see that Kenny has died. He played a huge role in building KISS into a success.

Thank you Kenny for your contributions to two superbly classic albums.
If Kiss had quit after Hotter Than Hell, these two albums would still be celebrated today.

Rest in peace.

Official statement from KISS - from KOL:
REMEMBERING OUR FRIEND KENNY KERNER KISS We are shocked to hear of Kenny Kerner's passing. He was an early supporter of the band and co-produced our first two albums. He additionally did some terrific work that produced numerous hits including "Midnight Train To Georgia" for Gladys Knight and the Pips and "Brother Louie" for Stories. He remained a friend till the end and we will never forget his contributions to our early years.

As someone who's close to 50, I doubt I'm gonna see 100. Diabetes can be managed. It's not the disease that gets you, it's the complications from it.

Saddened to hear about Kenny's passing yesterday. In recent years, he was a key figure in the business program at Musicians Institute and enjoyed teaching and passing along his wealth of experience and wisdom to students. A good guy and undoubtedly a key figure in KISStory.
