My favorite covers album would be "Hotter Than Hotter Than Hell" by Jeff Westlake from the band Hydrogyn. This is a really cool disc he made where he covered the entire Hotter Than Hell album. Great stuff.

...and just for the hell of it, here's an interview I did with Jeff when the album came out.....and he also appeared on an episode of the KISSFAQ Podcast. Great guy and he did a fantastic job on his disc.

Really love a version of Tears Are Falling by America To Mars, and Crazy, Crazy Nights by Kurt Nilsen.

Was this norwegian (I think) guy that covered a bunch of KISS tunes - not that original, but just solid and competent. Liked his version of Nowhere To Run....

From the Jeff Westlake-interview
KISSFaq: You've also gone an interesting route with the album cover and promotional angle with the ladies wearing the makeup....

Jeff: I wanted to stay as close to the art as possible without going into copyright infringement. So we did the same pose with beautiful women all dressed up in the gear, makeup, etc. and of course exposed their assets.
It is actually the same pose as is on the HTH-cover.....me - I just noticed the cleavage....oh well, I'm a simple guy....

Satin is the best KISS cover artist. I like some of his covers better than the original version.

Besides anything Anthrax has ever covered, on the newer side, I've taken a liking to Kristen Schaeffer's take on Hotter Than Hell. Good stuff! As for albums, I find Spin The Bottle to be decent, and really like Lemmy's take on Shout It Out Loud.

These rank wayyyyyy up there for me. All of them are uniformly great and mandatory listening for anyone who appreciates Kiss covers.

I'm gonna agree with everybody that already brought up Anthrax; I like their covers as much as I like the originals almost.

Also, I think Dinosaur Jr.'s version of "Goin' Blind" on KMA is outstanding.

The Melvins version of Goin' Blind! It's so badass, Houdini is a great record and that song fits in like one of their own. They stripped away a lot of the melody to just the primal basics and it rocks.

A third vote for this gem as well.
I'll also add Girl's "Do You Love Me"

Ooh yes. This is damn awesome. Lot's of people who listen to Melvins don't actually even know this is a KISS song. Which is great, since they really made it their own.
