Peter Criss recordings, 1966-9
THE BARRACUDAS: IT'S BEEN SO LONG 7"
MFT Records MFT-102 (USA, Jan. 1967)
A1. It's Been So Long (2:36) - Cancel
B1. Affection (2:08) - Cancel
Produced by Marty Craft.
It had long been rumored that one of Peter's earliest bands, The Barracudas, had recorded and released a single.
Confirmation was not possible until Lydia Criss auctioned off personal belongings in 2004, including a copy of the single.
Recorded in late 1966, this material was originally released on MFT Records (MFT-102) in early January 1967.
Both songs were written by Carlos Cancel, the band's lead guitarist, and arranged by Ted Eddy.
The recordings are more from the 1960s "garage" school of sound than the later eclectic folk-hybrid that Peter recorded with Chelsea. (From the "KISS & Related Recordings Focus, © 2005 - Julian Gill).
