Additional Notes From The Album Listings:

1. Regarding the R.I.A.A.
Handling the cerfification of albums in the domestic US market, the RIAA certification follows the following format:
GOLD = 500,000 Units Shipped
PLATINUM = 1,000,000 Units Shipped

In the early days of certification, shipped did not necessarily mean "sold" sometimes resulting in sales fiascos, i.e. with the Johnny Carson or KISS solo albums, where albums were certified and actually had more copies returned to the label! Multiple disc sets are multiplied by the number of records in the set to calculate sales.

While sales figures may not reflect the true figures attained by a particular album, it is the responsibility of the label to request recertification. Hence, albums like KISS' Alive, which is known to have sold 9 million copies remains at a paltry confirmed level. The same probably applies to other artists.
2. Regarding KISS NB-9001...
NB-9001 was issued on the East Coast on 2/18 with release on the West Coast delayed until the next day (2/19) so that Casablanca and the band could appear at a promotional event... When Casablanca reissued this album, sometime in the Summer of '74, remaining stock of the NB-9001 cover and labels were used, even though the label had decided to include a new song, "KISSin' Time", recorded in April/May, on the album. As a result, there are copies of the NB-9001 album which neither list the song on the cover or label that do include the song. In addition, Casablanca did also use a sticker on the cover to proclaim the inclusion of the new song. Copies with the NB-9001 center-rings do exist listing the new song, so several combinations of the song listed/not-listed on the cover/label are possible.
3. Regarding OST-V/A
For clarification: "OST" denotes Original Soundtrack, the score or accompanying music released as an album, usually in support of a film; "V/A" denotes Various Artists, meaning that there is no single primary artist on a record, this is usually used to denote multi-artist compilations.
