Song History Lester - (What Happens) In The Darkness

Written by Tamy Lester Smith in 1971 with the song’s copyright being registered in January 1972. Around the time that Wicked Lester were recording their album, the song was released as a single (MCA/Uni 55327) by the gospel-R&B band “Infinity.” Tamy later wrote material for the Jackson 5. The Wicked Lester version varies only slightly from the Infinity recording, where female and male singers traded off vocals, similar to how Gene and Paul handled the vocals on their version.
