NOT Kiss - SABU

For a long time these songs were attributed to Eric Carr and/or his post-Disco band, Flasher. However, a fan once played the Fancy Fair tracks for him and he denied having anything to do with them or being able to recognize the tracks. He even commented on the tracks in a 1986 (yes, 1986) interview: “As for me I have to tell you that I never sang the two songs that are being advertised, I don’t know where they came from or who it is but it’s surely not me. I apologize if this hurts anyone’s feelings but the fans all need to know” (KISS Konnection #1, 1986).

Naturally that did very little to stop the tracks circulating in fan (bootleg) circles, even to this day. Both songs were in fact by Paul Sabu and released on his self-titled 6-track EP on MCA Records (MCA-3236) in 1980. The song “Rock Me Slowly” was also released as a single at the same time (MCA-41211) backed with “Streetheart.” Both recordings feature Paul Sabu on guitar and lead vocals, Dan Holmes on drums, Rick Bozzo on bass, and Steffen Presley on keyboards. Paul Sabu would produce tracks on the Silent Rage album for $immons Records in 1989.
